Can I ask a question?

Why the hell is CNN so much more interested in what Britney Spears is doing (which, by the way, pretty much consists of going to Starbucks, driving around and showing her hoo-ha) than in the actual issues that the potential presidential candidates are advocating?

Anyone? Anyone?

I don't have an answer, but I do have a solution: Britney needs to run for president.

That was a joke, by the way.

Preach it, sister! I wrote an angry letter of protest to CNN a few weeks ago about this very bollocks. Lot of good it did. :sigh:

The cynic in me says that they broadcast what their mostly dopey viewership demands.

The non-cynical side of me says that they're hopelessly out of touch, and they don't know that some (most?) people want real news.

The realist in me says it's just as well, since no thinking people expect to get actual news out of the tee vee anymore.

I recently had the misfortune of being exposed to "CNN Airport", which is the first bit of television news I had seen in a while (except for a few hours of MSNBC on Super Duper Tuesday, which was enough Chris Matthews and other slop to last a lifetime). Other than the occasional rundown of the headlines, it was gossip and feel-good-story central - absolute garbage. I hope this isn't an actual news source for anyone.
