Mistakes I will never make again.

Mistake #1: Not having a shitload of wine in the house before making the call-out to inform our spouses that we lost two of our community's soldiers.

Mistake #2: Deciding to watch a movie since I couldn't sleep afterwards. And throwing in my newest Netflix. Which just happened to be "Grace is Gone."

Your community is in our thoughts and prayers. It's a tough call to place and I wish you much strength.

I'm so sorry for your losses.

I haven't had to make those calls yet... They're leaving this month. I hope I don't need any of the training I had to handle those situations. But they DID fail to mention the wine part. Maybe I should stock up...

You actually remind me a lot of my former FRG leader. Those emergency call downs were hard. I was a POC until March- March we lost a total of 6 men.

I just read the DOD's announcment and when I saw the 2 soldiers from your community I had to make sure, you are fine and the one wasn't your husband. I'm sorry for the families and my heart goes out to them. I'm dreading fall when dh is leaving and it won't be the palace this time so my fear is growing every day. I just hope they all come home safe.

I'm so sorry.

"Grace Is Gone" is still in its Netflix envelope at this house, waiting for the right (?) time to be watched.
