Sometimes it's the little things...

...that make everything seem all right with the world.
  • A ripe pear, fresh out of the fridge.
  • My son's laughter as he barrels down the big-boy slide.
  • The smell of honeysuckle.
  • An unexpected letter from an old friend.
  • The melodic tapping of rain on the roof.
  • A shipment of cute tops (that actually fit right!) from OldNavy.com.

What little things are working for you today?

Watching the cat in a cage match with his catnip mouse. He's so serious that I can't help but laugh (at which point he glowers at me and is like, "Dude, maybe you could be helping").

Homegrown tomatoes. Picked right from the vine, dusted off on a t-shirt, and eaten like an apple.

a little peace here at the computer while those same kids eat some popcicles outside before bed...
