Uh, yeah, duh.

Democrats say leaving Iraq may take years.

I know this. The Republicans know this. The Democrats know this. Most people, who stop to consider the logistics of moving that many men and equipment out while still providing support to the fledgling Iraqi government, know this.

So why can't my mother-in-law understand it? Seriously?

Well the country cannot understand it unless the NYTimes points it out. People just seem to wan to be spoon-fed information about what is going on in Iraq.

My LT is home on leave, and the rest of his family seems to have contracted the tendency to make bone-headed comments from his mother. The idea that a deployment coming up in 6-9 months would be avoided because "maybe the war will be over" is ridiculous. I hope no one noticed me snicker and roll my eyes. Sorry Aunt Marge, but your comments don't dignify a better response.

As for the spoon-feeding, I think the cable news networks are a more likely source... Ugh.
